Example of calculating D-Index
Let me show you a simple calculation of the D-index. This is using the same example from the video for ESCAPIA. Here you can see that the average access rate is 65% across the country. P_i is our access rates that vary across the different variation groups to the left. B_i is the weighted population which adds up to 1. Then we have all of the elements to calculate our D-index for one region. We have attached the file here in case you would like to experiment with the D-index calculation.
